This week sees the start of the marathon Tattersalls December Sales. Opening the show on Monday were some of the last yearlings to be sold this year. Foals sell from Wednesday 27th November to Saturday 30th, with a massive 1270 catalogued lots. Among these Shadwell is well represented. Particularly exciting is the first public sighting of the first UK crops of MUJAHID and ERHAAB.
MUJAHID holds the strongest hand with no less than 21 cataloged lots. They are reported to be an outstanding crop and good results are anticipated. ERHAAB, who of course has already proven himself in Japan, has 4 of his first UK crop on offer. Again the vibe is that they are impressive types and we hope that they will be well received. GREEN DESERT has six foals catalogued and, judging by recent form, they are sure to be hot property.
Monday 2nd December to Thursday 5th is the turn of mares and horses in training. A number of mares in foal to Shadwell stallions are on offer and we hope that they will attract similar attention to ANAZA (by Darshaan) who is in foal to MUHTARRAM. She passed through the ring at Goffs last week for a session topping €200,000. Another Shadwell connected sales topper was a filly by GREEN DESERT out of the listed placed mare SISTER GOLDEN HAIR (by Glint Of Gold). The filly was consigned by Cloncahir House Stud on behalf of Dr Peter Harms and purchased by Richard O’Gorman for €300,000
