Spirited Performances from GREEN DESERT offspring

INVINSIBLE SPIRIT, who broke the six furlong track record at the Curragh, and was the recent winner of the (G.1) Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup at Haydock Park. INVINCIBLE SPIRIT flew the flag for GREEN DESERT at Haydock when taking the Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup (G.1) in style. By a sire who was acknowledged as one of the finest sprinters of his generation, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT has subsequently been purchased by the Irish National Stud. He is certain to further strengthen GREEN DESERT’s reputation as an increasingly influential sire of sires. He is already represented by the likes of DESERT PRINCE, DESERT STYLE and MAGIC RING.

MUHTARRAM maintains steady flow of winners
The ever-consistent MUHTARRAM is continuing to come up with the goods. He achieved an across-the-card Saturday treble last week thanks to the efforts of Captain Ginger, Oakley Rambo and Telori. Captain Ginger (a 2 year old out of a Shareef Dancer mare) was taking his second race of the season and further strengthening MUHTARRAM’s position as a sire of 2 year olds. According to Hyperion Statistics with 59 two year old wins from his first three crops MUHTARRAM is, “The Leading Sire of two year olds standing in Britain” (by domestic sired 2yos’ wins from 1999-2001)

ERHAAB and MUJAHID
His stable-mates are at different stages of their careers. Both had their first UK crops of foals on the ground this spring. ERHAAB is reported to be producing a strong and compact type much like himself, and MUJAHID is also said to be stamping his stock well, many inheriting his characteristic white blaze. Derby winner and Dante record holder, ERHAAB, has already completed a successful five season stint in Japan. He has now sired the winners of over 350 races and more than £9 million in prize money. MUJAHID is, of course, bred in the purple. By DANZIG out of a STORM CAT mare he was the Champion two year old of 1998. His breeding needs no explanation – he possesses what are quite simply the most sought after bloodlines in the industry today. He, of course, spends his Autumn in the southern-hemisphere, at Widden Stud in Australia. His season is currently in full swing down under and we expect him back over here around Christmas.
