OASIS DREAM (GREEN DESERT) foiled Australian raider CHOISIR's bold bid to complete a hat-trick of Group wins within a month when taking the Darley July Cup (Group1) at Newmarket yesterday. The John Gosden trained colt scored in emphatic style under a bold ride from jockey Richard Hughes in the colours of Khalid Abdullah. The winning distance was 1 ½ lengths, with the filly AIRWAVE a further neck back in third.
The win, in what was without question a top quality race, represented a return to form for OASIS DREAM, who was third to CHOISIR in The Kings Stand Stakes (Group 2) at Royal Ascot. His next appearance is likely to be in the Victor Chandler Nunthorpe Stakes (Group 1) at York on the 21st of August.
