MUJAHID'S first yearlings hit the sales ring

The first major yearling sale of the season in the UK takes place this week at Doncaster. The St Ledger Sale (so named because the classic takes place on the Saturday at the racecourse), will see a strong representation for the Shadwell first season sire MUJAHID. No less than ten of his yearlings will pass through the ring:

Lot     Dam Consignor
76 BF   Cointosser Catridge Farm Stud
99 BC   Mabrookah Cobhall Court Stud
104 BC   Agony Aunt Lavington Stud
250 BR C Lammastride Mr D Taylor
293 BC   Stolen Melody Catridge Farm Stud
321 BC   Something Blue Manor Farm Stud (Rutland)
358 BC   Gold Linnet Newtown Stud, Ireland
382 BF   Mrs Gray New England Stud
418 BC   Stygian Collin Stud
509 BF   Future Options Parsonage Farm Stud

They are a strong, well-grown crop of quality individuals and it's hoped they'll surpass the achievements of his foals last year (who made up to nine times their nomination fee). MUJAHID himself was bred to be sharp and early, by DANZIG out of a stakes winning STORM CAT mare, and proved to be so when winning twice in the July of his two-year-old year. He then went on to take the Dewhurst and was crowned Champion two-year-old in Europe. His progeny certainly look as though they'll have the ability to follow suit.
