Shadwell Estate Co Ltd are pleased to announce that Sheikh Hamdan has decided to retire his Classic winner, HAAFHD, to stud for the 2005 season.
HAAFHD started his career by winning a Newmarket Maiden over 6 furlongs and then broke the course record at Newbury when he won the Listed Washington Singer Stakes by 5 lengths.
As a 3 year old he began his season with a win in the Craven Stakes, and then he won the 2000 Guineas in brilliant fashion, in the process recording a very fast time. He ended his career with an equally emphatic win in the Emirates Champion Stakes, comfortably disposing of a very high class field showing himself to be a very versatile as well as exceptionally talented racehorse.
HAAFHD is a homebred son of Sheikh Hamdan's Champion 2 year old ALHAARTH and Classic winning miler AL BAHATHRI.
He will stand at Shadwell's Nunnery Stud and his fee will be announced shortly.
