MARAAHEL (Alzao) won the Gr.3 Jardine Lloyd Thompson Huxley S over 1m 2 1/2 furlongs at Chester yesterday. He missed the break as Near Dock took the field along the first mile but took over just before the final turn and was pushed out to hold the game Counsel's Opinion by three lengths and repeat his 2005 victory in this contest.

MARAAHEL ran respectively behind Electrocutionist in the G.1 Dubai World Cup before running Mubtaker to three quarters of a length at Newbury last month. His four victories, including the Gr.3 Gordon S at Goodwood, and eight placings from 17 runs have taken his earnings to over £480,000.
MARAAHEL is a half-brother to G.3 Prestige S third Huja (Alzao) and is the second foal out of Nasanice (Nashwan), a three-parts sister to the Listed winner and Gr.2 Ribblesdale and Gr.2 Pretty Polly S runner-up Sahool (Unfuwain).
Nasanice has a two-year-old Green Desert filly named Safwa and a yearling Indian Ridge filly.
