The very first Northern Hemisphere yearling to go to auction by Storming Home was sought after by buyers at the Deauville Yearling Sales in France yesterday. The bay colt, offered by leading French Farm Haras d'Etreham, was out of the Listed Stakeswinner Sopran Dandy (Doyoun), herself a daughter of Group 1 winner Danzica. The Storming Home colt, already named Coppelius, was eventually knocked down to prominent Italian bloodstock agent Federico Barberini for 140,000 euros. The sale average so far is 102,000 euros while the median is 70,000 euros. Storming Home, currently quarantining in Sydney with the Darley shuttle contingent will arrive at Stoney Bridge this coming weekend.
