Shadwell Stud have announced that they have closed the book for their stallion NAYEF for 2008 coverings. They have been overwhelmed with applications following the very encouraging start that NAYEF has made to his stud career. He has sired 10 individual winners including the highly regarded SPACIOUS, the impressive winner of Doncaster’s May Hill Stakes (Group 2).
Shadwell have adopted in 2008 a policy worldwide of restricting their stallions to 85 mares. This has made the task of allocating nominations difficult in view of the fact that they have received over 300 applications from breeders to use NAYEF in 2008.
Among the notable mares allocated to NAYEF are ASHEYANA, full sister to Ashkanani; BARALINKA half sister to Soviet Song; BELLA LAMBADA, a daughter of Bella Colora and whose yearling by Dalakhani made £1,000,000 at Tattersalls October Part 1; CRUINN A BHORD a half sister to Ouija Board: EASY TO LOVE, full sister to Love Divine; LAURELLA, a half sister to Lando; MYSTIC GODDESS, dam of Medicean; PALATIAL, the dam of SPACIOUS, SIL SILA, winner of Prix de Diane Hermes Gr1; WINONA, winner of the Irish Oaks Gr 1, and Shadwell are returning AL ISHQ, the dam of the highly promising Tamayuz, the winner of his only two races in France this year.
“We are thrilled with the way things have gone for NAYEF with his first crop of runners. The allocation has been extremely difficult. It is inevitable there will be a number of disappointed breeders but we believe we have selected a strong book of mares that will suit the stallion,” said Richard Lancaster the Stud Director.
