First winner for EKRAAR

EKRAAR has recorded the first winner of his career with the success of 2yo colt Saitta yesterday in a 1400m juvenile event at Rome's Capannelle racetrack. Ridden by Mirco Demuro for trainer Bruno Grizzetti, Saitta sat back towards the rear early before getting handier on the rail turning for home and then unleashing a powerful late burst to catch the Orpen filly Irish Malpensa, the only previous winner in the field with Soviet Star colt Exaggerate 2½ lengths back in 3rd place.

 

EKRAAR will again shuttle to Stoney Bridge (New Zealand) for the Southen Hemisphere season, where his first NZ-bred crop are rising 2-year-olds.
