Patrick Lennon, who recently retired from Shadwell after more than ten years working for the company, scooped the Dominion Award at the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) awards ceremony on Newmarket’s July Course on Wednesday evening.

Patrick was a thoroughly deserving winner, having dedicated his entire working life to the thoroughbred breeding industry.

Patrick began his career at Lord and Lady Howard de Walden’s Thornton Stud, where he worked his way through the ranks to become stud groom, a position also filled by his father.

After a successful tenure at Thornton Stud, Patrick relocated to Plantation Stud where he was stud groom until 2005, after which he joined Shadwell and the team at Beech House Stud. Patrick was a hugely influential figure at Beech House. A renowned horseman, he was also a great mentor for the staff around him.

Patrick recently filled one of the runner-up positions in the Dedication to Racing category at the Godolphin Awards. He was nominated by his peers as a mark of respect and recognition of his dedication to the stud and racing industry over the last 40 years.
