TAGHROODA'S first foal arrives

Posted on: 7th Mar 2016

The bay filly by quadruple Gr.1 winner and Cartier’s 2014 Horse of the year, KINGMAN (Invincible Spirit) arrived just 1 day after TAGHROODA’S due date and weighed a healthy 52kgs.

Shadwell took the decision to send TAGHROODA to freshman sire and John Gosden stable mate KINGMAN in her first season and early indications are that the old adage of “Breed the best to the best and hope for the best” seems to have come to the fore in this instance.

The filly is described by Richard Lancaster (Shadwell Stud Director) as: “A good, strong, filly – an excellent first foal with plenty of quality.” He added: “TAGHROODA has settled in to motherhood well after a routine foaling – she will visit DUBAWI this season.”

Simon Mockridge (Juddmonte Stud Director UK) added “We were obviously delighted to have attracted such a high profile mare to KINGMAN in his first season and pleased to hear she foaled safely.”
